Company History

Interstate Diesel Service, founded in 1947, specialized in remanufacturing Detroit Diesel® fuel injectors. In the 1950’s the company expanded into manufacturing a variety of fuel injection components, in collaboration with a number of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) such as Diamond Rio®, GMC Truck & Coach®, International Harvester®, White Motors®, Allis-Chalmers® and others. During this time, Interstate Diesel gained the reputation as one of the world’s premier remanufacturers for fuel injection components.

In the 1970’s McBee Supply was established to service the heavy duty engine aftermarket with replacement components for Cummins engine applications. In the 1980’s McBee Supply expanded coverage to include replacement parts for Caterpillar®, Detroit Diesel® and Navistar® engine applications.

Since the 1990’s, Interstate Diesel designed, patented and marketed a variety of revolutionary fuel injection components. “ECOTIP” technology for EMD engine applications is an example of one of these components. This technology dramatically reduces exhaust particulates and significantly improves fuel economy for rail, marine, power and industrial applications. In 1997, Interstate Diesel added Electro-Motive Diesel® to the list of OEM’s serviced.

In 1999 Interstate-McBee invested in equipment and personnel to manufacture our own brand of engine gaskets and gasket kits. Today we manufacture over 2700 individual gaskets and assemble more than 3,000 gasket kits for Caterpillar®, Cummins®, Detroit Diesel®, and Navistar® engine applications.

In 2008, with the rapid expansion of the business, McBee Supply moved into an independent , dedicated distribution facility in Cleveland. With more space at the manufacturing facility Interstate-McBee created two engine test cells to validate new products prior to launch. These test cells allow testing of engines up to 2,000HP.

In 2010, the Florida distribution center relocated into a larger facility in Doral (Miami), Florida to better service the Southeastern States. In 2012, a new expanded facility was purchased in Santa Fe Springs (Los Angeles), California allowing the company to better service our West Coast customers. During 2014 additional warehouse space was added to the 5300 Lakeside avenue address allowing for a broader amount of sku’s to be added and increased depth of inventory. In 2015 a new distribution center was opened in Houston Texas allowing better service to our customers in the South West and Central United States.

Interstate-McBee celebrated its 68th anniversary in 2015, the company and its product offering continues to grow. While our business continues to grow, our focus remains on offering the highest quality products and services to our worldwide customers. Quality products and superior customer service are cornerstones of our corporate philosophy.
